Crane Operator Classes Calgary - For the supervisors and the operators, current and new, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content addresses relevant federal, provincial and state safety regulations. The first part of training includes complete in-class instruction and test. After that is a hands-on customized session together with practical instruction and evaluation.

The content of the course applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting crane machines. The instruction would particularly focus on all aspects of crane operation which could be carried out at the trainee's workplace. Upon finishing the course, individuals training will know how to operate specific overhead lifting equipment, attachments and related components safely and efficiently.

The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits that an operator could develop while operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products could be prevented with right practices. Training reduces the chance of a workplace incident or injury taking place.

The duration of the course is eight hours of classroom instruction followed by a few hours of hands-on, customized, on-site training. Participants would be graded on their knowledge of training material through an evaluation of their practical knowledge and written tests. The minimum acceptable score is eighty percent.

The in-class session, the trainee would know regarding causes of occurrences and damages, legislation and guidelines, internal responsibility, hazard awareness, basic equipment and design principles, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, safe hosting/operating methods, pre-shift equipment checks, equipment applications/rigging, kinds of hardware, pedestrian/operator safety, angles and hitches, hand signals for operators and slingers, flipping/turning loads safely.

The practical training and evaluation part of the course should be pre-scheduled. This customized portion of the training will be held at the trainees' facility. The length of this practical training component is an hour or two. Two operators at a time would be trained by the instructor about skills like for instance correct rigging practices, safe operation and planning the lift.

After completing both the in-class instruction and the practical training and evaluation, the trainee would be tested via an exam. Each participant would be needed to sign the safety rules. Successful trainees will be provided with individual wallet certificates. A framed wall certificate will be provided to the company.
